"Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does, the better."

Andre Gide
It is by God’s Grace that I am able to bring life to a blank canvas. And I spend each day thanking Him for His blessings. Through the use of beautiful color and bold brushwork, I attempt to convey the glory of God’s world in my paintings.

Influenced by the brilliant paintings of John Singer Sargent, I strive to produce a sense of emotional depth and immediacy reflected in his great works. My travels have been a source of endless inspiration. Whether depicting a scene from the edge of a West Virginia gorge or an Umbrian hill town, in my plein air landscapes, I strive to capture the feeling and tone of the scene and to draw the viewer into the moment. My goal in every painting is to bring my subject to life, whether a street scene, still life or figure. I paint what I love and what excites me, and I hope to share that excitement with the viewer.
